I love my skin, my deep tones, and the way it glows, the courage it gives me to shout that I am a proud Black man. I have immense love for my people, we have the power to make changes and take life’s challenges with stride. It is prevalent that we go through many obstacles that have been created to break our spirit, mind, & physically restrain us, however, we always rise up. The strength my people posses is unexplainable, however its heart breaking that we continue to be oppressed after centuries of fighting for basic rights and equality. I have faced many forms of racism but I know who I am and what I stand for. I stand firm in my belief for fairness and equality for all.
Being Black is not only about strength but to me it also means love, I have so much love to spread. Our race is innovative and has contributed many inventions and significant resources to many nations in the world. Our efforts are widely unnoticed in European/American literature, but when you do your research you will see how skilled Black people are. I vow to continue to research and support my people.
