Being a black man in the climate we are in right now, I feel optimistic change is on the way. But I also feel pessimistic and feel like there is no change coming because you’re fighting for something that your fathers and their fathers have fought against, for many years, so you have to come to the realization that you are living through a constant struggle. You have a kind of a burden placed upon you that others do not, but that is what makes us so resilient and so strong and why we go so much further and harder than others, because we were set back from birth. But you know the saying… setbacks are the beginning of comebacks and the story of our people is a story of resilience.
