When I was growing up "Being Black" came with a lot of challenges. People would judge you based on how speak and how you look. The idea of being anything other than an Athlete, Entertainer, or Criminal was not an ideal career path.

The betrayal of Black people on TV and in the media would have you believing that options are very limited on what "Being Black" really was. It was more about struggle and not opportunities. But the older I got the more I understood that "Being Black" is beautiful. More importantly, us as Black people can do anything we put our minds to. I'm Black and I'm proud.
