Profiling. Something I was made aware of while growing up. Something I was told would happen due to the world's ignorance and categorizing. Something I thought mainl happened to people of a darker complexion. Not knowing that it doesn't really stop there. One afternoon, I was parked in a car with my best friend. We were approached by two officers. Tom was calm while I was nervous. One officer asked why we were sitting in the car. I replied, “listening to music and talking,” (something we did on a regular basis). One officer looked at me and the other looked at Tom and then asked, "Where are you from?" Tom replied, "I'm from the Czech Republic.” The officer then said, "Oh, you people like to steal and scam.” At that point, I realized that profiling can happen to anyone no matter what complexion you have. The sad thing is you don't hear a lot about it.
