Understanding and Awareness

Fatherless Daughter

Growing up I had a great childhood; I had many friends and I went to many places. Many students liked me at my elementary school. I have endured many hard situations in life, but one of the toughest times was when I was in the fifth grade. I had parent-teacher interviews, which meant my teachers wanted to meet with one or both of my parents to give an update on our progress for the year. I wasn't too pleased with the time to come, because I remember going to the meeting and seeing the other students with both of their parents. In my case, it was always my mom who would make it to my interviews. I was very angry with my father for not being there and for not making an effort.

Mothers Love

I will forever and always love my mother; I don't know where I would be in life without her. She is part of the reason why I go as hard as I do. She always has my best interest at heart. She has taught me and showed me a lot of things in my life. She shows me how to correct my mistakes, how to be a lady, and how to right my wrongs when I'm wrong. On the days I'm hurting she tells me everything is okay, and shows me with a hug that makes me feel better. I am forever grateful for a wonderful mother and best friend.
