Being raised by a single parent, living in poverty, going through the struggles that I been through definitely made me want to achieve success on a different level. Success for me isn't measured by materialistic things, but by the positive impact you can leave on others and by making a difference. “People make mistakes but mistakes make people”, is one of my favourite quotes, it relates to my experiences and my goal of what I want to achieve. After graduating high school I attended four different schools, I was still unclear of my future career wise. After working with various temp agencies I decided it was time to go back to school, so I enrolled at George Brown College for the community worker program. Even though it was a difficult path I was able to overcome all obstacles and graduate. The feeling of being on that stage and getting that diploma after all I been through, seeing the smile on my family face, it was priceless. Now I am working for the City Of Toronto as a youth worker, just goes to show you anything is possible but you have to put in the work for it.
